Suzanne’s reference books (above) and recommended reading (below).
Earlier books I studied are:
Astrology: A Cosmic Science, by Isabel Hickey. The first book I read by her was It Is All Right which isn’t an astrology book, more of an inspirational meditation on the human condition.
Rob Hand's Planets in Transit, Planets in Aspect, and Horoscope Symbols.
Michael R. Myer's A Handbook for the Humanistic Astrologer.
Alan Oken's Complete Astrology and Soul-centered Astrology, on esoteric astrology.
Anything by Dane Rudhyar, especially The Lunation Cycle and The Astrological Houses.
Mark Edmund Jones, especially: The Guide to Horoscope Interpretation and his book on aspects and aspect patterns.
Steven Forrest's The Inner Sky, The Night Speaks and The Changing Sky
Midway through my on-going astrological education, I read:
Jeffrey Wolf Green's books Vols. I & II on Pluto.
Then his and Steven Forrest's collaborations: Measuring the Night, Vols. I & II
I also studied Bernadette Brady's: Predictive Astrology: The Eagle and the Lark, a favorite!
I've enjoyed many workshop presentations by Lynn Bell and her book: Planetary Threads.
J. Lee Lehman's The Art of Horary Astrology and her Essential Dignities.
More recently I have attended workshops with/read:
Mark Jones, Evolutionary astrologer from Wales. His knowledge and insight are astounding! I have gotten a lot from his 1st book Healing the Soul: Pluto, Uranus and the Lunar Nodes and his 2nd book The Soul Speaks: The Therapeutic Potential of Astrology.
I started out as a self-taught astrologer, having begun my studies back in the late 80’s, learning primarily from the works of Isabel Hickey, Dane Rudhyar, Michael Myers and Mark Edmond Jones. As a member of professional Astrology organizations NCGR, National Council for Geocosmic Research, and ISAR, the International Society for Astrological research, I have attended numerous workshops, classes and conferences over the years. I have benefited greatly from a myriad of teachers, most notably Mark Jones of Wales, Lynne Bell of France, Alan Oken, Michael Erlewine and Steven Forrest of the USA. I continue to read extensively, studying and taking webinars on various astrological subjects. In August of 2022, I passed the ISAR competency exam and received my Certificate of Astrological Professional.
Over the years, I have written articles on astrology, a newsletter for clients and 13 years of Blog writing. I have enjoyed giving Talks to the public, teaching classes and generally making myself available to share information with other seekers of metaphysical knowledge.
In the 2 years before his untimely death in 2022, I focused on Esoteric or soul-centered astrology, studing fairly intensively with Alan Oken. Alan was the author of Soul-Centered Astrology as well as Complete Astrology. I am integrating an exoteric and esoteric approach in my readings with clients.
My on-going search for meaning and clarity about this current earth-walk continues to inspire and enthuse me. Carl Jung and Albert Einstein are two people whom I look up to, feeding my curiosity regarding symbolism and the connections between spirituality and the infinite quantum field of energy and possibility.
As my intuition grows, I allow spirit to inform me in my daily life. If blessed to have our paths cross, know that I will feel honored.
