Highlights of Ramya’s Member Spotlight Interview
Ramya is a Leo Sun, Virgo Ascendant, and has a Scorpio Moon. She started with Western astrology and later incorporated Vedic astrology. Ramya believes that combining both systems provides a more holistic understanding of astrology. She uses two different software programs, Janus for Western astrology and Sri Jyoti Star for Vedic astrology, to analyze charts.
Ramya discussed her interest in astrology, particularly in the area of research she’s done on twins. She shared her experiences with her ex-husband, who is an identical twin, and how she uses different techniques to account for the unique characteristics of twins. Ramya shared her current research focus on addictions, combining Western and Indian astrological parameters, and expressed interest in presenting her findings to the Boston Chapter.
Ramya discussed her passion for astrology. In her role as the Chapter’s Vice President, she creates astrology content for the Chapter’s Instagram page. Ramya offered to conduct interviews with Chapter members on astrology topics. Ramya also shared her involvement with the National Council for Geocosmic Research (NCGR) and her past role as the clerk, which she found well-suited to her Virgo placement.
She also mentioned her continuous learning through various sources, including Mark Boney's Vedic astrology classes and Rick Levine's YouTube reports. She believes that newer members interested in Vedic astrology would find Marc Boney's approach very accessible.
Ramya shared her journey into Tarot card reading, which began when she purchased a Tarot card deck as a gift for her daughter. Initially skeptical, she decided to take classes after finding the cards surprisingly accurate. She now uses Tarot in conjunction with astrology, particularly when clients lack a time of birth or when she's stuck with conflicting information. Ramya also shared an instance where she used Tarot to advise her brother on whether to make an offer on a house, and the information she received was later proven accurate. Ramya has also worked with pendulums and crystals.
